White in running for Chicago police chief

I have been here for 15 years now, and seen many FOP administrations come and go. Of all those, Bill Keeling at least makes an honest effort to better the lodge and the treatment of officers. If you believe that ANY FOP president has the authority to change the way the department is run, you are unfortunately very naive. The contract negotiations are dragging along simply because we are now no longer willing to accept the disrespectful offers that the Mayor's office is making. Hopefully this will continue regardless who ends up as the FOP president after this election. You said it yourself - Bill is the President because nobody else on this department had the initiative or courage to accept the hardships of that office, including you. So before you cast stones at those that are willing to serve you, think about what you have done to make a difference other than complain.

I don't care if the FOP president is dating the chief, show me the money! I want a decent raise (compared to the crap we had before), no hike in dues, insurance, or whatever. Quite taxing the crap out of equipment/clothing/holiday checks and show me the money. If you can do that you got my vote. Peace.
