Are you a officer apparently not Number 1 they packed those taser's everywhere they go you scumbag. those taser's can shoot up to 20 feet and they paralaze a person did you know that! So everyone can assume you have been in this situation before or where you there that night. This officer has a trigger happy background. And how can you call this boy names like that when you only know what you have heard on TV.

Well said. The public needs to understand that a taser is not, nor was ever intended to be a substitute for using a firearm, when lethal force is absolutely necessary. It's purpose is to gain compliance from combative (unarmed) suspects, in much the same manner as pepper spray. Would you use pepper spray on an armed suspect pointing a gun at you? Of course not. That would be extremely poor judgement, and would only endanger the lives of the public and other officers. Additionally, we also are not trained to shoot people in the legs; it would serve no purpose whatsoever, because it does nothing to stop a lethal threat and it would just put other people in danger if the suspect is still moving around and firing off gunshots. And lastly, we don't shoot guns out of peoples hands... some of these ill-informed people who suggest we should do that are obviously watching too many action movies and looking at too many superhero comic books, they need to pull their heads out of their a #es and get realistic. The situation was unfortunate, which no police officer ever wants to be in, but the officer did an outstanding job and responded the same way any reasonable and intelligent person would.
