Firefighters plan Derby protests after contract talks stall |
RE: Firefighters plan Derby protests after contract talks stall
Interesting comment...... firefighters are after a piece of "your" money. I think all public safety employees contracts should take priority over people sitting in an office making decisions on events that they have no clue how to handle themselves... Its easy to sit in your air conditioned office and explain how you would handle a situation.... Take care of the fireman you might need them someday

Seeing you wish to make it everyone for themselves (united we stand - divided we fall) why don't you sign your name or just tell us you are from the mayor's office. WE need to stick together. The mayor has not made good on alot of contracts and has not given contracts to alot of the unions. If they did get one, it is a very insignificant amount. POLICE LTs are without a contract, FIREFIGHTERs are without a contract, POLICE SGTs and OFFICERs are coming up for contract. Along with alot of others UNIONS. It is NOT us against us. It is everyone getting what they deserve and what the mayors office doesn't want to give US. $10,000,000 (10 million $ surplus) and what are they going to do with it? NOT make good on past overtime due to the Firefighters (by court order), NOT make good on a monitary issue with the Police contract, NOT give contracts or raises to those who derserve them from all of the metro employees.

Aftrer watching the council meeting on the 26th it appears that the dems on the council are strickly a rubber stamp for the mayor. It doesn't matter the the mayor's buddy is the head of the worst managed department in metro government (Metrosafe) and that they are 18% ove budget lets's give them more money. And can somebody remind these dems that the unions will not support them in their re-elections if they don't stand with us and not the mayor. Have some honor, honor your union contracts give union workers a fair wage increase, pay the firefighters the back pay you owe them and fund the pension contributions like you are required by law.
