But many, if not most, of "our" homeless are homeless as a result of their own choices, and usually involve substance abuse and/or a poor education. I have a lot of sympathy for the foreign refugees who leave their home countries, but we can't take in everyone. I've seen too many cases where the sponsoring agency simply dumps these folks once they are brought over to the U.S. - in what is, essentially, for them a truly alien world. The difference between their life in Somali Bantu and in the U.S., even in Iroquois Homes, is night and day, and truly a cultural clash.
