At least he turned himself is, making it possible for them to actually solve a homicide case under this administration.

Tragedy all around

This is a tragedy all around, and nothing I'm going to say is intended to diminish that. That said, I have to wonder, and I know the history and ongoing tragedy of the Somali Bantu, what social services were being utilized to assist this family in assimiliating into U.S. culture? The Bantu are a strongly patriarchil society, but apparently the women do assimiliate better than the men, and often end up, likely this family, with the father/husband estranged from his children and wife. (Divorce is common in Somalia, but in Somalia, it is possible for the men to actually support two families. Here, they are faced with being essentially unemployable and if their wife leaves them, supporting themselves and being required by the courts to support their children, with nothing and being driven to "solve" their problem in this manner. Is is fair to take individuals from their home country, bring them to the U.S. and plunge them into an alien culture? While Somali is not the Somali Bantus home, and they are persecuted there, they are descendents of individuals from Mozambique and Tanzania, primarily. While I welcome there here, what ongoing, daily support are they receiving to ensure that they are able to adjust to life in the U.S.? Who is supporting and sponsoring them? We tend to absorb a lot of refugees who get no support from their sponsoring agency when they arrive, and who end up living in PUBLIC HOUSING! If I were to sponsor a family member who is a citizen of a foreign country to immigrate into the U.S., I'd have to sign that they would not become a public charge, yet we use our limited public housing to take in citizens of other countries?

What a senseless tragedy. I know some of the bantu tribe refugees and believe me the hell that those children went through in somalia was very painfull to hear. Children being raped as they went to get water miles from refugee camps. The few possesions they owned stolen. I know we have many problems in this country as well and they should be addressed but, how so very sad that after a life so short and full of pain it had to end this way. We should all be better parents after hearing of this tragedy. Make sure to tell your children that you LOVE THEM do not assume that they know. GOD BLESS.
