6 shootings in 48 hours, Is it time to bring back the Street Crimes and Gang Units?

I'd like to see more information on this website as to what needs to be done to actively support Downard's campaign. Without open, visible and constant work, Abramson will win. I get a weekely email from the campaign about activities in which they need help - the festivals they will be working, etc., and the need for volunteers. Do you have a yard sign? Have you donated money? Are you talking to friends and neighbors about the situation in a positive manner - but giving these folks concrete reasons why they need to vote for Downard as opposed to the default candidate, which is Abramson. As much as I hate to say it, people won't be voting FOR Downard, they will be voting against Abramson. Are you explaining to everyone you meet why they need to do that? If not, you are, in effect, allowing Abramson to get elected.

If 1,000 cops at LMPD would each "turn" 10 votes to Downard, that alone will probably be enough to make the difference in the election. Add in the fire department doing the same, and that's a LOT of votes.
