I couldn't have said it better myself. Whether you work in the old city districts or the old county districts, we are all brother and sisters here, we all wear LMPD patches. And no matter what part of town we work in, we all face danger everyday and you can bet, no matter where you work if an officer is in trouble and needing help, the only thing that you will think is thats my brother or sister. Yeah, I wish we all got pat on the backs that we deserve, not everyone can do this job. We get judged enough by the media and other parts of the community, dont judge each other. Lets face it each other is all we got. Stay safe and my hats off to myself and every officer in this department.

I only value recognition from those who I respect, which explains why I don't need or want an award from this administration. If really feel underappreciated because they didn't put your name on the FOP web site, then just spend about an hour setting up a free web site and post all of your arrests for the whole world to see. After that, you should seriously consider getting a life. I'm probably a little more cynical than you are, but the majority of people in Louisville have repeatedly shown that they don't value the police and don't care very much about keep crime down. They've done this by electing Jerry Abramson into office over and over. He's done nothing but try to tear this department down since the day he first took office. The Police Chiefs that Abramson chose have been consistently poor choices. Violent crime continued to increase until Hamilton retired and it's doing the same under Chief White. When you suspend, fire, or charge any officer who puts their neck on the line to stop a violent criminal, you're training the whole department to avoid any confrontations with violent criminals. It's becoming harder and harder trying to ride it out for 20 years working with so many people who couldn't have gotten a job paying as much working anywhere else. By the way, you should have saved your $5. Homeless people can get free meals anytime they want down at the shelter. He probably spent it on some malt liquor or some cheap wine.
