Pit Bull Ordinance Controversy Heats Up

ANY breed of dog, whether it's a Rottweiler, Pit Bull, Doberman or a Poodle, can be dangerous, it depends on the owners treatment of the animal. I own a 90 lbs. Rot, and spent quite a bit of money having one of the K9 officers handle the obedience training. My dog looks mean as hell, but is nothing more than a 90 lbs. lap dog. She's not an aggressive dog, but I'm not sure what she would do if someone broke into my house and tried to hurt my family other than ******** in the floor and go back to sleep. I would be curious as to how many dog attacks have occurred in this county from breeds other than rots or Pit Bulls.

One of the problems is that you don't need to make new laws over this issue. You need to inforce the ones already in place.

There should be more policing of the matters at hand. There should be more dog patrol officers that are able to check on the conditions of reported dogs. This is a matter that can be solved with out discriminating against certain breeds of dogs. There needs to be a hotline that is "ananymous for sure" so neighbors do not fear calling on a dog that is being neglected, abused or used in dog fights as so many of these ill tempered dogs are done. Then there needs to be available the people to go out an investigate and take care of the issues called in not just sweep it under the rug. I so honestly believe that any dog can be persuaded into acting out if not treated properly (fighting, tied or chained up all the time etc...).
