FOP Endorses Kelly Downard for Metro Mayor

After working for White, I guess you could ask him the same question. By the way, White was assistant chief of the Washington DC PD while it was taken over by Clinton's Justice Dept. for ineptness and corruption.

Before anyone had a chance to vote for merger, the LPD training unit had magazine and newspaper articles from DC on the bulletin board depicting how NOT to run a police department.

Also- you can ask Greensboro about which of his successful policies they retained. Short conversation or a long chuckle would follow.

I tend to agree. Also, I think this guy is using a lot of rhetoric that is tantamount to political suicide. For instance, saying he will, if elected, fire Chief White, but saying only that he will replace him with 'some body who agrees with his views' (I paraphrase) sounds like a really unilateralist attitude. I, for one, have had enough of this in national and state politics, and would like to keep it outside the Louisville pale. I think throwing out the current mayor (and chief of police, which Downard's election would entail) in favor of a man who has no political juice or experience -- and whatever yes-man he has in mind to serve as LMPD chief makes -- little sense. What does this guy really have to offer? Let him detail his plan and vision, not just slam the current administration (however flawed we might think it is).
