717 Million Dollar Budget Vote Slated To Improve Public Safety Woes

I hope you guys remember this at election time - will the FOP support a GOP slate across the board? Mayor, Comm. Attorney, County Attorney, Sheriff .... Betcha not ....

Didya know the Sheriff's Office has four boats and M-16s for all the deputies on the street now? Oh, and they're all getting brand new handguns? Gosh, wonder where he's gotten the money for all that? (And even if the items are surplus, you still have to maintain the stuff.) How much of a raise did the deputies get out of that 1.5 million the Sheriff insisted he needed? (If it all went to raises, great, but my understanding they got about 25 cents an hour.)
