The whole idea of appointed majors is that you can get rid of them - or at least bump them back. Are you saying that Hamilton is running the department? I think he's just a little too busy with Metrosafe right now.
How is it a joke? Are you saying it is a good idea (despite the fast approaching federal mandates on frequency allocation) to keep going the way we are going, with responders all over the spectrum, rather than move to the soon to be vacated 700 freqs and getting everyone in the same ballpark? This was something the community wanted 15 years ago, a consolidated communications center. (And it might finally get the fire dispatchers off that silly 24/48 shift they cling to - getting overtime for sleeping.)
