Thats right! I do believe that the "March for Sherrard" had over 2500 participants! But the media wanted you to think that we had only a few hundred. Some people should get a life!

The 25.00 was only a suggestion, not mandatory for the ride

I worked the registration and there were some folks didn't have $25 but gave what they could. One gentleman gave motorcycle pins as a donation. At 1:30 there were 916 total riders registered (both riders and passengers). The donations requested was $25 per bike, not per person. Not all riders registered. So getting an accurate count was impossible. Many of the estimates on the number attending was labeled by media, so your calculations and information is incorrect.

If you are going to criticize an event for all the good it did - bringing the community together to support law enforcement, and raising money for Rebecca, then you need to get a grip!

Whomever you are..you need to back off. Didn't your Mother ever teach you that if you haven't got something nice to say then don't say it??

I believe there was about 1000 bikes there. That would make the money closer. If the media estimated the number of bikes, they could be wrong. They have been wrong before.

I wanted to take just a moment and address some of the rumors that are going aroung about the ride. 1st off I will not hide behind a screen name. I am Bryan Hamilton and am currently the vice President of BlueKnights Chapter 13. For those of you who are not familiar with the motorcycle community or motorcycle runs, let me enlighten you. First off we were asking for a $25.00 donation. No one was turned away if they did not want to pay it. Some people did not have any money but wanted to honor Pete in being in the ride. Some people gave nothing while some gave $40.00. If you chose to believe the local news agencies about the number of bikes go ahead. I can not dispute the figure. What I can tell you is that not everyone registed for the ride. As with all rides, many individuals joined in during the ride, bypassing the registration all together. We, the BlueKinghts KY 13, anticipated these types of comments but not from our own brothers and sisters in law enforcement. Which brings me to the next rumor. It has been said that the run made $60,000 and we only gave Rebecca $9,000 while one of our members used the rest of the money to buy a new motorcycle and car. I have heard this rumor for myself. One of our members does in fact have a new motorcycle, that was purchased a week before any money was collected for this event. Also when a lease ends on a vehicle and you have small children you replace the vehicle. Every penny that was raised by the run was given to Rebecca. Most of you are familiar with the members of KY 13 and we have never claimed to be angels. Most of my past mistakes are well documented, but we have never been accused of stealing, especially from a fallen officer wife. The only thing worse than a theif is a coward who hides behind a visitors screen name in an attempt to stir up trouble. What this boils down to is that Ky 13 did an exceptional job putting the run to gether in three weeks and people are jealous and making false accusations that need to stop.
