I want to thank everyone on behalf of Blue Knights KY 13, the turnout was great! We had over 2000 Bikes and we are giving Rebecca $20,000.00 that all of you helped raise. We can not say enough about how it feels to have put out our call and have everyone answer! There are too many folks to thank that help get this going, but know that we are forever grateful!

I was on the side of Hurstbourne an watched as all those cycles passed by. It was incredibly impressive. As a motorcycle "newbie" it was truly inpiring. Are the BK's for officers only or can the general public join?

It is sad to see someone that wants to cause hate and discontent over how many people showed up and the money raised. We got the offical count it was 2000 bikes, and the money is still $20,000.00. Not everyone that showed up gave money, and it was not required! we just wanted to show Rebecca support and give her what we could, I think we did pretty good. (look into how much other groups have given her.) For someone to try and cause a stir and imply that there was something wrong done is just plain being an **********. Where were you Sun? Those that know me know i do not beat around the bush and get straight to the point, so those that came out or sent there support in one way or another Thank you a million times over, Rebecca thanks you she has told us a hundred times what this ride means to her and that alone will keep it going for us for years to come, and for the person or person that want to put a negative spin on this, than you should be shamed and ran out of town.

Thank you for providing such support to Rebecca. I wasn't there but wanted to be. I will, however, purchase a bracelet. To all officers and law enforcement personnel, THANK YOU FOR ALLLLLL YOU DO! YOU ARE AWESOME!!

When I first came to the site and saw this front page posting it was great. Now it is taking an ugly turn into casting stones at everyone trying to help one of our own. FOP....if this is the way the postings are going to go it is time to have another front page post.
To everyone who is involved in helping, your great and we need to stick together.
BlueKnights Memorial Ride Slideshow
As an board member of the FOP, I would like to agree with the last comment. We do not need to start casting stones at people. I am not a member of the Blue Knights at this time. However I was the one who counted the money ( Brad Woolridge). If you have questions feel free to ask me. I was assisted counting the money by two other females who also are not members of the blue knights. One I a EMT with Jefferson County EMS and the other her sister. We are the only three that counted money on the day of the run. I know for a fact that no one removed money from that table prior to us counting. I know this because I assisted with registration the entire time alon with my wife and the two ladies I just spoke of. The $20,000.00 that was raised was great. It should be a god sent to Rebecca. Several of the riders were confused and gave money to Supporting Hereos, that's ok it will go to a good cause. We should be thankful that both these organizations came together to help one of our own. We should not be debating over what was given. Several bikes did not have money, several did not pay the money was great but the support was what meant alot, to Rebecca and the family I'm sure. We should not confuse the money issue with the fact we have a fallen brother we all came together and we will stick together forever. I hope that if something happens to me that all will come together and take care of my family the way we have so far for Rebecca.
Fallen but not FORGOTTEN!
Peter we miss you and know you are watching over us, Thank you brother.

It is a dissapointment to read the criticism and distrust some are writing on this post. The bottom line is that we as a community need to support the family of the fallen and the heroes that are still patroling our streets!
Don't criticize those that are willing to put forth effort to honor and help someone else in need. Whether it be monies, time, or prayers play a part in rebuilding this city. I don't care what the FOP is doing with the money for the bracelets because I know they will use the funds to benefit someone else, some way some how. KUDOS to you all. God Bless

Here is a copy of some emails regarding the request of Officers to Stuart Benson to have Officer Grignon recongnized by metro goverment with a Day of Honor. It would only be fitting for Peter to have his day for all to remember the sacrafice he and his family gave to us. Contact your representative on metro council and have them make this happen.
Jim,
Please let me know so that I can update the officers that have contacted us
about this.
Thanks,
Angela Webster

Will recommend to Mayor that he do so at an appropriate time and with the
family's OK.

Mayor Abramson,
Please consider issuing an executive order designating a day in honor of
fallen Officer Peter Grignon. We have heard from many officers that this
would be a tremendous help in the healing process. In addition, what a
better citizen to honor for his sacrifice to his community.
Please let me know your thoughts in this matter.
