Steve, you did a great job and are truly an asset to your profession. I truly hope I never need your services but if I do, you'll be the first I call.

No, Thank You Steve! I will never forget how you have helped me and been such a true friend. May God always watch over your family and you. May he continue to bless you all. May the next officer (and there will be more) be blessed to have you as their attorney.

Love

McKenzie Mattingly

When we first started talking to attorneys for the Legal Defense Fund that both Lodge 6 and Lodge 14 got onboard of in 1995 we personally asked some of the best attorneys in town to come on board with us. Steve Schroering was one of those people. Without great legal minds to fight for us, because our job is to go out and protect the community we would have our hands tied behind our backs. We would be dependent upon the lackluster defense that the government provides. McKenzie would have been denied having this top flight legal mind making sure that he had, because while doing his job and defending his life was proven innocent of the false charges brought against him, because our government and our department abandoned him. They threw him to the wolves.

THANK YOU STEVE!

Mr. Schroering,

I am that juror that called you the other day. I know we only spoke for a brief period, but that was my fault. I was in the middle of doing my regular job when I first placed a call to your office. I would definitely like the chance to speak with you again. I am sure that this is still a hectic time for you, but it seems clear that you visit this site on occasion so hopefully, you will read this.

As I told you on the phone the other day, I think you and Mr. Mattingly both are good men and I also told you that I thought it was a travesty that this thing ever came to trial.

I don't know what I can do, if anything, for the two of you, but if I can don't hesitate to ask. I would be more than happy to speak to whoever you would like for me to speak to on Mr. Mattingly's behalf.

I want to have a chance to speak with you for an amount of time where we are not rushed and we can just talk like friends. I would like to become friends with you and Mr. Mattingly both.

As I said to you before, God oughta make more people like Mr. Mattingly to be police officers.

I look forward to hearing from you.

You have my numbers.
