You can see in this picture that robberies have been happening all over the county since February. The media barely reports anything on robberies, but they're the best metric for violent criminal activity affecting the average person. Cars being stolen and driven across the county back to the west end are another tell-tale sign of west end gang members being in your neighborhood.

Louisville Metro Police have investigated 116 carjacking reports from Jan. 1 to June 9 of this year

Since June 9, another carjacking case grabbed headlines after police arrested an armed Louisville man who allegedly stole a vehicle and fired randomly at homes and cars in eastern Jefferson County and Oldham County before several law enforcement agencies detained him on the eighth green of Sleepy Hollow Golf Course in Prospect.

LMPD barely has the number of people needed to prove even basic services. LMPD has had no assistance from any other agencies for handling the armed robbery investigations, although many of these offenses are federal crimes, including all of the carjackings.
