You weren't nearly as much of a civil libertarian when narcotics officers lying about their 70 hours of overtime per week were sending some kid from the west end to jail for possession of a controlled substance. Officers who normally assume the public's guilty until proven innocent are the first to insist they're 100% innocent until a jury finds them guilty. That's called hypocrisy.

The cat's out of the bag about enough of the case to know they broke policy and laws. Covering up all these years makes the public a little like you are.
