Sounds to me like you picked up the wrong job application playa'. Maybe next time, at the job fair you should grab an application to one of those other departments that are doing everything right in your opinion.

Gov. Bevin and Commissioner Sanders are on the case now and the legislature is pumping in the money they need since it's now a high profile embarrassment. You will never convince a liberal Democrat Mayor that policing is more important than all of their other pet rocks.

LMPD has been run horribly by the merged government. The next person to be elected Sheriff after Aubrey should be put over LMPD, as they did with the combined department in Las Vegas. The Sheriff could hire another Chief Deputy for LMPD if he didn't want to run it himself. That would get some, but not all, of the dirty Louisville politics out of policing. The Mayor doesn't really want the political liability anyhow.
