FOP President lashes out at 'sensationalists, liars and race-baiters'

Fischer is using the old Abramson political playbook. Conrad's unique talent that got him hired is knowing how to do things the Abramson way. This playbook calls for appeasing anyone who calls themselves a liberal activist, under the belief that they can sway Democrat voters to avoid the polls or take to the streets in protest. It also favors police inactivity over proactive felony enforcement. Conrad's job is to make the people who want a greater police presence to think he's doing something, but without increasing the number of confrontations with police, which can lead to protests. The Mayor, as Abramson before him, also sees the police department as a lower priority for the budget. He'd much rather spend large amounts of money on new development downtown. Don't expect them to change until someone comes into office who's his own man or woman rather than a hand-picked successor made by Jerry's political machine.
