Police chief to shake up patrol officers' shifts

...for a 80 hour pay period...

People will take v-days no matter what. If they have delusions of increased productivity and less time off downtown because of 8 or 12 hour days, they are sadly mistaken, and any real expert on the issue has already written a paper on the subject. This fiasco is a lot like watching a fat guy try to lose weight by eating pasta and wearing a garbage bag while jogging to sweat it off. 1979 called and wants its ideas back.

Now lets say on those 3 straight (12) hour shifts you get off your latewatch shift and have court everyday and may not get home til 1 or 2 now. Is the guy thats only getting 4-5 hours of sleep everyday the one you want backing you up everyday 9 hours into another 12 hour shift? Me, not so much..
