Meet the man in "The Mustang" -- LMPD's most feared traffic officer |
RE: Meet the man in "The Mustang" -- LMPD's most feared traffic...
That greater reliability talk is hype. Maybe it was true once upon a time. Today they are no more reliable than most of the handguns made for police use in a climate like Louisville's. They can be if you're in a desert and patrol during sandstorms, but so is an AK-47 and police SWAT teams aren't using those. If you want to shoot while swimming in a lake, others like the Sig P226 have been used for years for that purpose by the military. I don't know anybody who will be doing that on LMPD.
If you like the Glock, then shoot it. If you like something else within reason you should be allowed to carry it. People who dislike their handgun will not go to the range on their own time and they will suck. Too bad it's too easy to qualify that people are deluded into thinking they're good shooters.
