2. Get back to riding my beat, you say? I think not! This administration does not want beat officers, it wants stat machines. If I ride my beat well, suffer no or limited break-ins and make all my runs then I should be considered to have done my job well. Not so. It is preferred that I forget my beat and look for people to FI or parking tickets to write. It's all about paper. I've got a better chance of "getting in on a stat" by hanging around the traffic stop than by going back to work.
