Audubon Park police chief out of a job

Congress was intended to be full of regular people who would go to Washington for a few years and then return home, not career politicians. They are representatives of the people. Those who stay around a long time can gain experience over many years that will allow them to understand the job of President. On the other hand, they can also become entrenched and corrupt.

A President has a lot more responsibility than a Congressman. The only job that gives that kind of experience is Governor. The Congressmen and Vice Presidents who've been elected President since World War 2 have been worse than the Governors. Our best President was probably Dwight Eisenhower, a 5-star General.
