I have met many of them and most either were military or law enforcement with another agency, some out of state. If I was in trouble with something that went south suddenly and someone in brown showed up, I would appreciate it. Even if it was only an extra pair of hands or eyes. We have to stick together, regardless of agency.

Some of the biggest wannabe's I've ever seen were full-time police, including some of higher rank. Don't disparage volunteers just because you don't believe in the concept. Your house is probably protected by volunteer firemen or people who used to be one.
