Thousands attend funeral to honor fallen officer

This tragic event brought us together...let's not forget we are all family. Put the differences aside and lets use that energy for catching the POS who murdered our brother!

I want to thank LMPD for the huge turnout of officers in support of our fallen brother, Jason Ellis. The amount of LMPD Officers at the visitation and today's funeral was overwhelming. That's not even counting the huge part LMPD Officers played at the ceremony, traffic control, opening doors, parking, etc. We could have never properly honored our brother without your help. I am truly grateful for you all. Driving home after the burial I reflected on these past two days and all the LMPD Officers in attendance. And I felt pride for having once worn that uniform alongside you fine officers. Semper Fi & Stay Safe.

My heart aches for the family left behind and I offer these words so that they may find comfort during their tragic loss. Rest assured that although your loved one has left this world way too soon at the hands of another, he has undoubtedly taken his rightful place serving his Lord in Heaven.

May you find peace in knowing that someday you will be reunited. Also know Jason's death will be avenged. As you grow tired and weary from constantly looking over your shoulder, one day you will find a gray menacing cloud approaching over the horizon behind you.
