Louisville police chief wants study to prove department doesn't use racial profiling

First of all, I don’t want a shitty contract. If it takes time to get me close to what I deserve then I will wait. We aren’t losing anything by operating under our current contract until we get another. I guess we could have told the FOP to settle in three months and take it in the wazzu like Corrections and EMS. I’d rather wait.

I agree that crime is escalating and that we don’t have enough officers. This has been true for years. The city prioritizes its expenditures on other things and the citizen suffers.

I disagree that we get no respect. I believe that we are respected and appreciated by a majority of citizens and city leaders. Remember, it‘s the vocal minority that you see and hear. Those that respect us do so silently.

You are absolutely right that we don’t stand together as officers. Getting a large number of officers together to “fight” anything is impossible. We have become self centered and selfish. We think of “self” before “unit” or “department”. Don’t know how to change this.
