A person could get a free email account under whatever name they wanted for the registration.

Same level of anonymity there is now. If someone wants to know bad enough, and has the knowledge, they can find out no matter what.

Perhaps you could consider letting people attach just an alias name to an E-mail address. We don't need to know the actual person behind the post but it would be nice to be able to know that all posts made under an alias are made by the same person. Put a big disclaimer on the front page that people posting could be anyone - officers, families or just regular everyday civilians.

I miss the old CJ format. You got the feel for a person's political leanings after awhile and could relate to them, or not.
