The fact that the streets were blocked at 0200 actually makes sense, and if anything "offends" fewer citizens because there are less of them out. Furthermore, the probability of some knucklehead DUI busting a signal at 0200 and t-boning the ambulance is obviously greater at 0200 than at 1400.

Not bashing your opinion, but I'd venture to say you'd see things differently if you were the one in the back of the wagon after taking a couple of rounds.

You are probably right but no co will ever speak up about it for fear of being blacklisted.

When you get shot twice while protecting the public, you deserve to have the streets shut down for you. I don't get why this would offend anyone. People just like to complain.

god forbid that some selfish jackass had to be inconvenienced for a few seconds. It doesn't matter the time of day or night, it only takes one distracted driver, a drunk pedestrian, or a person on a bicycle not paying attention.... you get my point - to cross into the path of a moving ambulance and escorting police cars driving code 3. Believe it or not, it actually happens quite often. please complain about big stuff that actually matters.

An officer went into harms way with the knowledge of what he was facing. He went towards danger that others run away from. He responded to a call for help. He chased people who were bent on doing evil and had a complete disregard for the lives of others. When you are willing to stand with him, face danger and not shirk your duty, then you can judge him and those who go with him. The reason that streets were blocked off is that he and those who work with him are held to a higher standard. He surpassed that standard by leaps and bounds and was accorded treatment proper to what he had faced. One of the main differences between you and those who do this job is that you think that if someone disagrees with you they are wrong. We accept the opinions of others, realize that they do not agree with most of our values and standards and still accept them. We also defend them. I have done this job for more than two decades. I am not better than those who I serve and protect. I was instilled with three words when I started this job, Courage-Service-Integrity, they mean more to me than you. I choose to be the one who faces evil and danger. Sleep well tonight. Many more like this officer are out there while you sleep.

Bad Judgement?

The only bad judgement here as that your sperm donor did not pull out in time to create your ignorant ***. You would be the first to whine when you needed the police. Get a job and a life.
