Crystal Marlowe wants her job back |
RE: Crystal Marlowe wants her job back
I don't work with her or really know her. no dog in the fight. Well written opinion, though. Not sure if "department heads don't hold themselves to the DAME standards" was a typo on purpose or not (due to context and subject in question). Could be an old Freudian slip! LOL.
BACKS.
RE: Crystal Marlowe wants her job back
The numbers game is gonna hurt them! When open records shows an officer work 160 hrs a month. And he/she has 1 arrest, 5 citations 10 accidents, 10 reports. This tells the public and the city officials they have to many Officers. See you live by the sword, you die by the sword.

RE: Crystal Marlowe wants her job back
In this particular case I pray she doesn't get her job back. There is NO excuse for fudging numbers, making false arrest and putting innocent people in jail for crimes they did not committ. There is no excuse to why this is not a VIOLATION of a persons Constitutional Rights. The Department should have to pay and should not make these people have to wait long to recoop their loses! There were too many checks and balances that should have been done behind Crystal's work that should have seen this going on from the beginning. However, I know that this is not something that hasn't been done by a number of Detectives that have resulted in a lot of False arrests. As for PIU, and PSU these cases that they are investigating...all I can say is WOW!! What a waste of man power in some of the cases that you all are pursuing! I guess some of them have forgotten the things that they have done in the past...time has a way of exposing your dirty laundry is all I can say. This Department needs a lot of training and it needs to start at the top and work its way down!
Think before you start putting these people in positions that are going to cost the Department Millions of Dollars! Think before you put these stripes on the ones you call commanders. Think before you act because the next LAW SUIT could be you! Start looking at who is in PSU and PIU....and get rid of Dennis Don't know anything Simms and get some real Law Training for our Officers!!

RE: Crystal Marlowe wants her job back
Having the right people in PSU and PIU is part of the key. There for awhile, the ones going there, were on someone's sh** list, or there had been issues.
The department has a lot of good detectives and some of the command may have been good detectives. But there isn't any real good detective training. Through the years, it has been you either had it or you didn't, and if you didn't you might get it by learning from senior officers and detectives. A lot of detectives are selected because they have been good/reliable workers, or the good ole buddy thing, or they fit what is needed at the time (looks, etc.). No real qualification process. There is one to be an officer, why not detective.
There should be training that has to be completed in order to qualify to apply for a detective slot. Part of that training should be an evaulation period on making cases, collecting evidence, interviewing, and convictions.
