Why bring all the negative comments to such a positive article?!? Must you always complain about something?!?

This dude sounds drunk. Can't spell or fully connect thoughts and emotions. I know how our dispatchcers feel. I have been there too. No, not previously a dispatcher for first responders. A dispatcher of the enemies of our democracy.

Great Job guys. Run that dang radio !

Get off my Island, geedunk monkey! POGEY BAIT !

Seriously, you must be a total butt munch to always look at the negatives. I wonder if you are brave enough to post your real name since you seem to have no problem calling others out by name. I am sure others would probably say the same about you. Get over yourself and learn that everything is not about you. What a douche!

There are good and bad dispatchers, just like there are good and bad cops. We know who they are. I see no need to mention names on here. Certainly not in this article. That was bad taste.

I would like to say Thank You to all the men and women who protect our streets. Most of us on the other end of the radio do appreciate all the Thank You's that we get on a daily basis, I know that I do! I love doing my job and I hope that I am able to do it for a very long time. I always try my best to make sure that everyone is able to go home safely at night. That is one of my main objectives when I come into work. Some of you may get tired of the voice on the radio asking your status, but that is because we want to make sure you are ok. We don't have the ability to see everything that goes on out there, so the radio is our only way to know. When something goes bad, you out there are our eyes and ears to tell us what is happening and that everyone is ok. Most who know me, know that I take pride in my job and will do everything I can to make sure everyone is safe. Again, I want to say Thank You to everyone out there, for your friendly voices on the other end of the radio who make me smile and make me want to do my job better! And thank you Paul for writing such great things about all the Calltaker and Dispatchers. We appreciate you all too!

FIRST OF ALL , YOU ARE NOT MUCH OF A MAN OR WOMAN TO MAKE A COMMENT LIKE THIS AND NOT ABLE TO POST YOUR NAME, I WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOU TRY TO DO OUR JOB AND HANDLE THE RESPONSIBILITY WE HAVE AS A DISPATCHER, IF YOU ARE AN OFFICER I KNOW YOUR JOB IS STRESSFUL TOO, IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH A DISPATCHER CONTACT US AND LETS TALK ABOUT THIS LIKE GROWN UPS, IF OFFICERS WOULD SPEAK MORE CLEARLY INTO THEIR MIC OR TRY TO STOP TALKING 90 MILES AN HOUR , WE WOULD NOT HAVE TO HAVE YOU REPEAT YOUR TRANSMISSION SO OFTEN , OR BEING TOO DAMN LAZY TO PICK UP YOUR MIC AND SPEAK CLEARLY INTO IT, INSTEAD OF REACHING OVER AND KEYING YOUR MIC AND YELLING INTO IT. I WOULD BET IF YOU GET IN THE MIDDLE OF A SITUATION WHERE YOU NEED ASSISTANCE RIGHT AWAY , THE FIRST PERSON YOU CALL IS THE DISPATCHER AND REGARDLESS OF YOUR OPINION ABOUT US, WE ARE THE FIRST PERSON THAT IS GOING TO GET YOU THAT ASSISTANCE YOU NEED. ANYWAY THIS IS MY OPINION. OFFICERS KEEP UP THE GOOD JOB, AND I AM PROUD TO BE YOUR DISPATCHER FOR THE LAST 18 YEARS, RESPECTFULLY, DAVIS

You write like a 12 year old. You'd be lucky to have Michele on your channel if you're in a critical incident and if you are worried about getting toned up answer your radio. If you can't handle your scene and pay attention to your radio at the same time, you probably need to go back and ride with a PTO/FTO.

First off; Greetings from next to the tree, we're having drinks after my shift

Second of all; MOST not all of you do not know a bit about we do. Surrounded by 6 or 7 computer screens, in a dark little dungeon, waiting to hear something you never want to, not being able to see or hear anything, not being able to be there and help any of you when you need it the most; therefore we help to the best of our ability; getting you that extra set of hands or that hogtie or that spitsock to keep that piece of garbage from showering you with his/her saliva. As mentioned before, there are good cops, bad cops, good dispatchers and bad dispatchers, we know who they are; no need to throw names out there like some Class change at the local Middle School. Yes, some may ask you to 10-9 every now and then, how do you know we don't have 3 or 4 other people talking to us about ANOTHER incident we may be handling, or calling your complaintant back, because you're too lazy to go FIND them, hell we may even be running a subject on a run you are en route to, because we sense he pose a potential to your or any other human life at any given time. Remember, you deal with one incident at a time, we deal with MANY ;) We get tired of the same BS runs that you all do as well. Do you think we hate calling you all for the third or fourth time in one tour because Johnnie hit Kaneisha and then threw her keys on top of her apartment building, well we do. Also, it sickens me to know that someone would bash someone on a public message board, someone who holds their life in their hand; and not even have the guts or courage to even leave a name to go with it. Hell I thought having courage and guts was essential to being a police officer; maybe I was wrong. But anytime you want to discuss any of the previous matters; we can sit down like grown adults, and do that. 410 S. 5th St. Third Floor.

To those who stood up and defended us; you get it. We are all on the same team; and we truly appreciate those kind words and thoughts. As for myself; I know I do. Most of you know that I dealt with a critical incident not too long ago; and it was very traumatic with the best of endings. I was able to deal with it due to the acts of kindness and the thoughts and appreciation of those who offered. So, the next time you do hear a Tone; it's not that we are trying to be asses; it is because we care. We care enough to strap in and do it each and every day. We care that you are able to make that next BS run, to get that next lockup, we care enough to make sure that you get to go home at night to that significant other whomever he or she may be, along with being able to see your kids; if you are blessed enough.

Thank You.

Very well said and articulated Trent, thank you to all the officers and people in general for your support and positive attitudes. I'm very glad that you are in a safe, secure position to be reading this, even you Anonymous Ranter. I don't discriminate, I am in complete agreement that there are good and bad officers, calltaker, dispatchers and people in general. We almost have to thank our lucky stars for the bad ones, it gives us all job security. God Bless and be safe.
