It is amazing when you stop and think about it. We have come a long way but still all boils down to Call Takers and Dispatchers sending Police on runs. Most are routine but all are unknown.

I do VERY MUCH appreciate our dispatchers! I know that my life is in their hands and I want to THANK each and every one of them for what they do! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm old city (late watch) and I not only enjoy my job but I love it! When the channel is 'hoppin' and someone calls out, 'got one running' I am in my element! Love that. :D

Those of you in blue have my heart every time I take my channel. Fire/EMS peeps recieve a lot of admiration from civilians, but to me you are my heros. Most every call for service you go on you put yourself in harms way and you do not receive nearly enough positive support from the media and your own chain of command. Thank you for the job you do so well.

I hear all your thank yous when I'm on the channel, does a heart good to hear it, but my chain of command does not want me to respond either on the radio or in CAD and believe me when I retire....whatever channel I have is gonna get a lot of THANK YOUS on the air from me!

They are doing a great job, it is the same here in France but unfortunatly dispatchers are "police officers" like me and i think that it should have a difference between "police officers patrols" and dispatchers because sometime some of them are not agree to receive some instructions from a young police officer who has almost ever stayed in his desk answering to 911 calls!!!!! most of the time they do not know the city very well, i think that they should work outside before taking that kind of job ...

But it doesn't seem to be the same in Louisville, dispatchers are civil !

I can say that your dispatchers are doing a very nice job because i use to listen your channel radio ;)
