LMPD probes detectives who tipped off prosecutor under investigation

Sorry to disagree. Both need to go. One has a history of misconduct that was covered up by his friends in command. They retired or this never would have made the light of day. Whether officers were endangered or not, this is an unexcusable breach of trust. Do you really want to ride a beat with these guys? Not me. Want to go through a door with these guys? Not me.

Not everyone has the integrity to do the job. They may be nice guys, good friends. Doesn't mean they have what it takes to be good police.

You make a lot of assumptions, the worst of which is that the department has room for people tipping off suspects. Those types of people are nothing but spies who've betrayed their oath.

They told the susptect when they were going to come to serve the warrant. I don't know about you but I have never told the suspect when we would be there. Most if not all the units get the warrant and serve it right away or as quick as possible due to other circumstances.

As for the detective who was talking about the case he should be removed from the unit and get some days out of this. It is a possition that handle sensitve information and if he was talking to someone about this case in a public place who knows what other information he has told people about or the public has overheard.

I don't know who you are, but your statement says a lot to me about your character and intelligence in trying to make light of misconduct and untruthfulness in this line of work. We or should live and work by higher standards and if you can't live up to those standards then you have to go work somewhere else. No room for you in this profession, no ones trying to crucify Russ or Wilson, they are just saying that because of their lapse in judgement unfortunate as it is, it carries consequences. Consequences which are much more severe then in other lines of work because of what we do and because we and the community expect and demand more of someone given the authority, descretion, and responsibility that we have. It sounds to me that maybe you would make a better politician than police officer.

NOT BE FIRED! You are as bad as them. What would you save if they tipped off anyone else other than their buddy the prosecutor. They ARE the police! They ARE to act accordingly! If you don't go get in the unemployment line.
