Ahhh, how about, the FOP designates someone - or even just a special email address, that permits you to send an email when you request a continuance. Create a paper trail to show the time and date you requested it. Clock and drop the continuance request IN DISTRICT COURT - as well as through your regular process. Create an alternate paper trail to show how inept the "official" one is.
