Controversy continues over city money given to developers of 4th Street Live

thanks for pointing that out as whom ever posted the other statement did not know what he was talking about. Officers have come back as officers. Even Sgts have come back as officers. Others have made a deal before they left (Dwight) to come back in a cushy job attached with the cop unit at safety town. At least he didn't come back and take a possition that a real officer could fill. These others are civilian employees who are in so tight with the command staff in the ivory tower they can leave, have someone else do their job while they are gone and then come back to the same chair like they were never gone. Hopefully they don't hit their head on the underside of the desk when they go to get up.

Why isn't their unions complaining about this as it prevents anyone from being promoted to a new job?

I suspect that was because that is an appointed rank - he couldn't have come back as a Sgt., Lt. or Capt.

It would be "allowed" if, for example, they wanted to bring back someone to fill that rank from outside the agency right now - such as a new chief.
