What are all these freebies people think cops get? Are you kidding me? I can think of two places that give me discounts on food-- not freebies, but discounts. Two places in the whole d*** city. I'd like somebody to tell me where I can find all these freebies we are supposed to be getting according to the citizens of this wonderful city.

So please provide me with a LIST of names and numbers and addresses for all these freebies you are referring to, because you and I both know you are just running off at the mouth

What "freebies" and "perks" are you talking about? I don't know who you are but you definitely don't know what you are talking about!

Obviously you are not a member of the FOP and have not read our contract. Let me enlighten you. There is a article in our contract that is the catch all for all the little and big things that aren;t specifically covered in the contract. I am sure you can understand that every possibility cannot be brought up or hasn't even been thought of otherwise all we would have to do is negotiate pay every time.

This article that I am speaking of clearly states that nothing can be changed or altered that affects wages, hours and working conditions without negotiating it through the Lodge.

I too am getting tired of hearing abramson's weanied keep talking about the cars being a privelege not a right. It has never been specifically in our contract because Metro Government never wanted it in there. However, to put it in plain terms the cars have been part of our working conditions for years. The contract says they can't change working conditions unless they negotieate it. The cost of the cars that he wants to implement WITHOUT negotiation is illegal according to state law and it is a violation of our contract.

Contracts are put in place to protect the workers from unjust actions just like this. He has never once come to us and asked to work something out, he has simply told everyone what they will do.

Imagine if your boss came to you and told you that you had to start paying to use the neccesary tools you use at work? Would you do it?

Granted the take home cars are slightly different, but the community reaps the bennefit of having them on the street. Would it be fair to ask the neirghbors of police Officers to pay because they get extra protection because the car is on the street?
