3 Judge Panel Lifts Injunction Against City

In order for a take-home police car to actually compare to a normal car, the rules would need to be the same. They are certainly not. Your math is not necessarily incorrect, but you are comparing apples to oranges.

I very rarely let my kids ride in my police car for fear of their safety (I assume you know police cars do get ambushed). I am not allowed to leave the county, and I have family just across the county line and across the river. I am constantly being asked for directions, helping with wrecks, and various other minor issues that I come upon. Hell, I can't lead a normal life with my family unless I also keep a personal car in addition to my take home car. When my take home car breaks down for three weeks, which actually happened, I am expected to have a personal car to get to work.

All of the above means that I ALREADY need to have a personal car in the FIRST PLACE. Why the hell would I pay $160 per month, plus insurance costs, for my take home car??
