I don't get it. How is he abrogating your contract when the privilege of take home cars is not a contractual benefit? If it's not in the contract, then the city should be able to do whatever they want. Charge, not charge or paint smiley faces on the hoods if they want.
What about all the freebies and perks you all get from local businesses so they can stay on your all's "good side"? Those aren't in your contract either. What if they couldn't afford to continue doing that? Would you demand they continue? Would you subtley threaten them with less frequent patrolling or slower responses? Would you demand to see their books?
Just something to chew on?
