I was talking to a friend of mine at the UAW and he said that they supported the POLICE and Fire in this Battle. I think The FOP should see if they would throw their hat in the ring for us. If we all stand together this time, maybe he will learn and maybe the public will see him for who he really is. We need more sound bites in the News and we need Larry Bisig to get some of the Louisville Businesses on our side. A big thanks To Larry Bisig for stepping up to be our spokesman!!!!!

How about not planting anymore trees at the water front! As I drove by the water front yesterday, I noticed holes in the dirt for MANY more trees. Who is more important......trees or the people that work for you? Work on the water front when you have the MONEY! CUT BACK!!!!!

The Indiana one is interesting - who is it? Without names the media can't make much use of your information.

The amount of supervisors is due to the merger that our wonderful Mayor asked for. These positions exisited before merger and have been incorporated into the mix. There are no more or less than before merger. The four per shift is an exagerration. Thats like saying there are 45 dispatchers on a shift. There is always someone on a off day or on vacation. Most days there are 2 supervisors for 30 employees. The woman that makes tapes is required to make tapes under the open records law and check out your facts before you start griping about her pay, she took a pay cut to change to that job, it is significantly less than the 19.88 starting wage for a dispatcher. They didn't take the other employee for the position because the supervisor who does the complaints also makes tapes and they didn't need the position so they kept it in the center. If you think there are only 10 complaints a month you aren't paying attention, there might be 10 founded complaints, but there are numerous others that still have to be investigated. No one pays for gas for their take home cars in MetroSafe your facts are wrong here too, there are gas cards assigned to each take home vehicle. For some reason only officers are required to pay for gas.

About those supervisors who can't accure sick time, aren't we union members? Are these the same supervisors who hand us discipline for abuse of sick time? Seems that someone would complain loud and hard about being disciplined by someone who has the same problem. Or could it possibly be that they are also disciplined for their abuse and we don't know about it.

QA is a necessary evil, we complain all the time about call takers who don't get the right information, this is a step in the right direction to listen to a random selection of calls to improve performance. I might not agree with one of the employees being formerly retired and then brought back instead of promoting from a current employee, but we don't need them back in the center. As far as eliminating shortages in the center you need to let that go, we are better staffed now than we ever have been.OT is difficult to come by if you aren't a person with seniority.

I agree that the mayors furlough days and suggested paycuts are totally unnecessary, but lets find ways to cut the fat without cutting each other. That is the mayors plan you know, divide and conquer. Cause turmiol amongst the troops, get them biting at one another take the attention off of what the real problem is; HIM. We need to stand united with all public safety employees, police, fire EMS, and all civilian support staff. Lets not recommend any ones position be eliminated or cut. There was money for these positions before his poor management of public funds, lets not sacrifice each other to pay for his mistakes.
