The Police Tax

Do a little research on how well the Teamsters did for the Nashville Police...needless to say, they went back to the FOP. The Teamsters do nothing for LMEMS and they would do nothing for LMPD. As previously posted, they know nothing about public safety....nor do they care.

You may or may not like the teamsters, but the TEAMSTER name does have a great deal of clout with local, state, and federal political leaders and large employers. Numerous police officers around the country have left the F.O.P. and joined the TEAMSTERS for a reason. The nearest to Louisville being Metro Nashville. The TEAMSTERS police divisions are still run by police officers with advice from members in other crafts who are skilled at dealing with difficult employers. The TEAMSTERS contracts have gotten me making over $100,000 a year driving a semi. Maybe they could help the police officers also! The bottom line of a good union is negotiating good contracts and winning at grievance hearings and the TEAMSTERS are without a doubt very good at this. Sometimes it is a plus to have your union leaders not working for the same people that they have to fight on a regular basis on the behalf of their member's. When the management member has no control over the union reps. work schedule, work location assignment, pay etc. they are going to deal with a union rep. who will be more likely to fight harder for the union member without fear of retribution on their own job! Good luck L.M.P.D. officers and stay safe. from a Ret. City of Louisville Hazardous Duty employee.
