The Police Tax

Hey, do not forget the policy for all the officers who live outside of Jefferson County. They have had to park their take home vehicles at the stations or at a approved site since merger. I was told that the citizens of Jefferson County do not get any benefit by having a car parked at my residence outside of Jefferson County. But others can drive from one side of the county to the other without restrictions. I do not think a criminal would care what the police car says on the side if its parked at an address it is a deterent to criminal activity where ever it is parked. It also increases my response time ifiamcalled into work. So all of us who are trying to make a better environment for our famlys are being punished by living outside of the county. The policy sys "assigned take home vehicle" so the officers who live outside the county cannot take them home, we must be exempt from the off duty work fee.

I guess the other depts in Jefferson County will now take the off duty jobs or the rate will have to go up.

I think the tax may be a tax deduction on next years taxes if you pay it.
