Jefferson County Deputy Sherrif Attacked, Firearm Stolen

Theoretically, every cop is "on-call" - but I assume you mean SWAT, HNT, etc.? How about, you get to take home a pool car when you are on call, but not when you are not on call? Problem is, allowing guys to park their cars at a firehouse on the edge of the county defeats the justification for having them in the first place, and don't think the council doesn't notice. Take home cars are a privilege, not a guarantee, and something we can lose if we aren't careful. The stated reason for take-homes is that officers will be driving them off duty and increase the appearance of patrols - which isn't going to happen if the car is just sitting at a firehouse.
