WE are told not to call ETU unless you think there is a prinatable surface. If the item is portable the beat cop is supposed to take it down to their office. It is another overworked department that is understaffed because our ever lovin' chief thinks we should be glad handing people instead of solving crimes.

Things don't work like CSI. Of all the many cases I am sure you have worked, how many arrests have been made based on the prints at the scene? I would guess zero! We would love to have the ability to process every scene but it is just not going to happen. You cannot process a scene for possible prints and let all of the other violent calls for service go unanswered.

And where does this person work smallville usa. Yeah, you might do all the detective work yourself, but you are probably not 30 runs down when you start the shift. And another thing as far as back up, yeah i know all face danger when whe put on that uniform and walk out that door. But trust me buddy things happen quicker and alot more down here, especially in the urban area. Lets see, on the average probably every other person i stop on my beat has a gun, numerous are gang members, i can bet you that every day i will either find a gun on someone, fight someone, get into a foot chase, or draw down on someone. Bigger department, alot more stuff to do, we as beat officers down here cant spend all shift doing detective work. I know in small towns you can do it. IM not complaining, I love my job and love working for LMPD, and yeah it is a known fact that i work in the busiest division in this state. So you have no idea what you are talking about, until you have worked here. I think if you know so much about us, you should apply!!!
