You are surely a complete idiot who does not realize the law enforcement duties that the office of sheriff hold. Also that the sheriff is the highest ranking law enforcement official in the county. You are obviously someone who LUCKED into his job ( if you are law enforcement). I am sure mommy and daddy knew somebody.

Gosh, someone who realizes that Aubrey is no better, and in some cases considerably worse, than his maligned predecessor - whose son was an LMPD officer who was railroaded out by one of your esteemed Chiefs. The FOPs strongly supported him, because, I think, that he said he'd hire a bunch of retirees - and he has.

I agree, he has some folks that are an embarassment in a uniform, and some of them are retired LMPD officers. By law, LMPD CAN do criminal process, the statute permits it, and in actually, you get most of the criminal process anyway. (What part of warrant packs sent do districts don't you understand?)

The old courthouse security? All three of them?

Actually, by law, the sheriff's office should be going to the jail to pick them up, but I didn't see anyone supporting that premise when it originally came up - they wimped out and gave Aubrey what he wanted.

ITS A SURE BET YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW A MERIT SYSTEM WORKS. IF A DEPUTY IS COVERED UNDER MERIT HE/SHE HAS THE SAME JOB PROTECTION AS ANY METRO OFFICER. I'M SURE ALL METRO OFFICERS COMPLY WITH A STRICT EXCERSISE AND DIET PROGRAM. I HAVE NEVER SEEN AN OVER WEIGHT POLICE OFFICER, HA....

Who ever wrote this comment is an idiot. You are probably a metro officer. I wouldn't work for your department if it paid 50,000 a year. Hell everyone I know who is a metro officer hates it and wants to quit. The Sheriffs Office does a great job and service to the community. At least the public does not hate them.
