Wow...all of the sudden the public has been brought to its knees and now police interaction is welcome. Before the thugs scared everyone, people didn't want the police to even speak to them, let alone interact. The police have known this for years. If you live in a "Mr. Rogers" neighborhood, you believe the police should interact and initiate conversation. In reality, that contact could lead to a foot chase, a fight, and then use of force. And once the dust settles, the thug will not be held accountable... but the officer will be scrutinized for not "handling the situation" correctly. The community will rally around the thug and the officer will loose. Hardly sounds worth it to me when all you need to do is sit and wave.

Sir, if you would refer to the below listed news report from WAVE, you can plainly see that you were clearly mistaken when you assumed the officers sitting in their vehicles on the Louisville side of the river were being lazy and unfriendly. What you saw was a new, cutting edge, state of the art crime fighting method. If we just sit and wait in our vehicles long enough, the criminals will eventually give up their rambunctious behavior and surrender peaceably, without the threat of violence or general unpleasantness. Mr. Osmanovic fell right into our carefully laid trap. Congratulations boys and girls and an extra five hours of overtime to everyone for a job well done.
