Negative. What transpired is vastly different than what you read in the CJ. They decided not to arrest him after having all the facts. Officers did nothing wrong.

UNARREST!?

Youre right, someone DID show up to evaluate the situation and make the right call. And it WAS NOT their Sgt. It was the officer's on the scene. They made the right call from the get go. These are quality officer's exercising appropriate discretion in a situation where they would have been completely within their authority to effect a LAWFUL arrest. Remember the "report" that should have been filed was to be completed by the Sgt, not the officer's, again, no ball dropped on their part. And BTW the whole "veteran" trump card, at least 2 of the officers on scene are veterans. That's how Ft Knox got notified in the first place. If these guys didn't care, they would have just locked him up, never called, and been done with it. But, hey none of that is nearly as interesting as the CJ' s article, so maybe just ignore it all, makes a better story.....
