Police in Jeffersonville arrested a corrections officer early this morning after they say he crashed his vehicle into an alternative school.

According to Jeffersonville Police Detective Isaac Parker, Damien Conn was traveling east on 10th Street when he crashed into an alternative school known as the Clark County Middle/High School around 2:30 Monday morning.

Parker says Conn has worked as a corrections officer at the Jeffersonville Jail on Court Avenue for about a year-and-a-half.

Parker says Conn left the scene of the crash and was picked up a short time later at a nearby church.

Conn is charged with resisting arrest, leaving the scene of an accident, and battery to an officer who was allegedly injured while taking Conn into custody.
