He allegedly pointed a gun at an off-duty cop and his family.

It happened shortly after 9 a.m. Saturday, on Brownsboro Road, near the exit to I-64 westbound. Police say 43-year-old Lawrence C. Hyman was driving alongside an off-duty police officer who was traveling in an unmarked white van with his wife and two children. That officer states that Hyman, "started driving very aggressively, passing officer and slamming on his brakes."

The officer says that when he tried to pass Hyman, Hyman sped up.

Moments later, Hyman allegedly pulled a gun and pointed it at the officer and his family.

That's when the officer pulled his badge.

When Hyman saw the officer's credentials, he allegedly fled from the area. He was eventually arrested in the 2300 block of Douglas Boulevard, just north of Woodbourne Avenue.

Hyman was charged with four counts of wanton endangerment.
