Visitation for Jefferson County Deputy Sheriff Glenn Meredith will be Sunday at Bosse Funeral Home at Barret and Ellison Avenue from noon until 8:00 p.m. A FOP memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m.
A private burial service will be held in Hart County on Monday.
Deputy Meredith was vacationing with his family in Panama City, Florida. On Monday he was swimming in the ocean and drowned during particularly rough waters. On that day Panama City police say red flags were flying to warn people to stay out of the rough surf. Another man also drowned that day.
Deputy Meredith was 46 years old, a 14 year veteran and active FOP member.
