4th division officer James Embry shot a burglary suspect while effecting an arrest in the Germantown area. The suspect, James Bryant (aka JR Whobrey), was shot in the left arm just above the wrist. The wound is not life threatening. Officer Embry was not injured. The full details of the incident will be released after investigators have gathered all the facts.
The shooting incident comes at the height of a rash of burglaries that have plagued the Germantown area throughout the summer. Neighbors in the area stated that James Bryant lives in the area and further stated that they felt no sympathy for the suspect.
"This gentleman deserves every bit of it," resident Gary Allen said. "He's keeping this neighborhood terrorized. It's about time this comes to an end."
