Decentralization, the cornerstone of Chief White's administration, did not work well in Greensboro either, according to Greensboro POA president, Eddie Summers. During a recent conversation President Summers acknowledged many of the same problems they experienced under White's plan that we are seeing now. "Chief White cut the Criminal Investigation unit down to a point that there were only an average of 6 detectives assigned to 1/4 of the entire city.", Summers said. "He eliminated our Juvenile Unit, reduced our Traffic Unit and sent numerous veteran property crimes detectives to the streets. The guys were not very happy about it."
President Summers stated that a majority of those units and detectives have been put back at their previous levels since Chief Whites departure from Greensboro.
