The "killing" happened because a police officer was doing an undercover drug by from a DRUG DEALER!

If he had not being dealing drugs he would have never been in the situation. How come we are still hearing about Michael Newby being killed but not hearing about Officer Eddie Mundo Jr. who was killed in the line of duty?!?!

Why can't you realize Newby was wrong for being out there in the first place.

Then please tell me, how long would it take to pull a gun from your waistband, stop and turn and fire a shot? I can tell you the answer to that. Not long! What exactly was Newby going to do if he got Mattingly's gun from him? Keep it as a souvenior? I don't think so! Statistics show that when an assailant takes an officers gun the officer is more often than not shot with his/her own weapon! I know it sounds awful that someone was shot in the back! However, you can't find anything, anywhere, in any police training that says an officer can't shoot a SUSPECT in the back under certain circumstances. Let me pose this question to you. We had a situation in our town where two white police officers saw a black male subject with a felony warrant. They stopped their car and were exiting the vehicle and yelled to the subject to stop. He was walking away from them. He looked over his shoulder at them. Looked straight ahead again. Pulled a gun from his WAISTBAND and pointed the weapon at one of the officers while never fully turning around and pulled the trigger. Luckily for the officer the idiot had the wrong ammo in the gun and it didn't go off. The suspect then started to run. Would the officers have been justified in shooting that subject in the back? They didn't, they said they were afraid of what the public would say. They decided to chase the suspect. The suspect had ran around a house and was waiting for the officers to turn the corner. When the one officer turned the corner the suspect was waiting with the gun pointed at the officer. The second officer had gone around the other side of the house and fired a shot at the suspect at the same time the other officer fired a shot. one round hit the suspect in the upper chest by his shoulder. He lived. They went to trial and the suspect was found not guilty of attempted murder of a police officer because the gun didn't go off. There were even black witnesses who testified and stated they saw the suspect point the gun and pull the trigger. Is this what police officers are expected to do? How do you feel now about someone being shot in the back? All of heard about this is how terrible it was that Newby was shot in the back! I know at least one officer who wishes he would have shot a suspect in the back. But I guess that's what we expect police officers to do. We don't even look at them as being human half the time. Mattingly made a split second decision regarding his safety and the safety of others and has been indicted for murder. Another officer makes a split second decision about how it would look to shoot a black man in the back and it almost cost him his life. I will say this, I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6. If this doesn't open your eyes somewhat as to why it is exceptable to shoot someone in the back under certain conditions than I don't know what would!
